Happy Employees , Successful Business - Steps for Strong Workforce

1.1.Proper Training
Trained employees work as team is most beneficial to the company in various ways. Each unit, each department each branch, from smallest team to largest team of company must work in harmony to achieve a common goal.
Training Manager has a great impact on company as he has to train new employees for the task assigned. And building friendly environment for employees is a must. Employees must be trained for the given task by supervisors and provide necessary knowledge for the task. Video tutorials, practical sessions in the fields guidelines, seminars, workshop must be held in the premises or outside for training the employees.
1.2. Increase connectivity between employees
Engage employees to work as team and make connection with each employees. Training session for developing communication skills must be offered for employee to increase productivity of the company
Encouraging team concept in company is really beneficial to the company and most successful strategy to succeed in business. For the success of the company team work is most required skill should be developed among employees and company must educate employees via seminars workshop on team work.  (Wormley R, 2019)

1.3.Setting Practical Targets
Employers give the impossible targets to achieve by employees to get more profits. Even the employee tries best to get sales in various ways.
For Example, Department head gives a business executive to close 10 sale orders end of the day. To achieve that goal some BA become tense and unhappy as it is a hard target to achieve.  So the Business analyst tries get the sale order in unethical way lying customers offering unrealistic profits and rewards. Same time this will lead to damage company reputation because the customer was cheated and doesn’t receive mentioned rewards. Next time customer won’t buy products from the company neither recommends the company to his colleagues. (Mintz D ,2019).
Employer suppose give tasks to employees who are trained for the tasks and limit the tasks per day to affordable number for the employee.

1.4.Reward Employees
Prepare a system to reward employees on no of task completed per months. In this method employees will work hard. Employees will be experts in their fields doing many task as much as they can without wasting their valuable time. Also they will be able learn more in their fields without wasting their valuable time. According to reward system company can identify best employees of the year and promote them. (Singer and Bak, 2017)
Employers can give feedback to employees on their performance. Employees need to know their performance on tasks to get promotions and specially for self-satisfaction. When employee can see that company grade their work performances they feel satisfy and happy that their month’s work has been noted by someone.

1.5.Dedication
Without dedication a company cannot succeed just by completing tasks. Each task need to be completed with dedication. For a task to be success employee must give their best. Committing to the assigned work and see the best solution for the problem without seeking for personal gain from the situation is a good practice.
At the end of the day employee can be happy about the completed tasks he has done with dedication. This work ethic from a manager often inspire co-workers to work hard. Positive attitude employees bring the company lots of luck and profits. So even when hiring people human resource professionals must be interested very positive people. They always know what action to be taken, always have a backup plan, not discouraging from simple break down. (Stanwick and D. Stanwick, 2009)
Mangers must train the staff for performing task effectively as possible. And encourage them to complete given task in given timeline. Seminars and workshops should be held to uplift the motivation of employees in the company and make them have a goal to work for.
1.6.Set Realistic Goals
Tension gives employees need to find the easiest and fastest way out. It can be an unethical action. Employers must not give pressure by giving impossible goals to achieve for the team specially for the sale teams. Give employees time and peace of mind to complete the tasks in time with better solutions. Deadline should not be too tight and access to necessary resources must be supplied to each division. Satisfied and happy employees developed a pleasant environment in the company where it will directly affect the success of company. When employees work with less tension they treat others more friendly and kindly. (Mintz D ,2019).

1.7.Be an Example
Management should perform ethical behavior at first and be an example to the other levels employees. Without management being ethical its hard make the other co-workers to have ethical behavior because they can always point out unethical behaviors of up management. And without punishing um management first they can argue it’s unfair to take action only on them while management violate company policies with power of their positions. (Stanwick and D. Stanwick, 2009)

1.8.Confidentiality
Data and Information inside the company must not be shared with outside persons expose to public. Information of products and services must not sell to any competitive company.
Employees always bound to a responsibility to keep company’s information safe.
Information entrusted to an employee must be protected. Train employees for keep faith in the company and always faithful to the company and always speak up in the unethical situation.
Customers, distributors and product information and non- public information such as trade secrets, trademarks, patents, records, databases, employee medical information, salary details, employee data, researches, business strategies should not be disclosed to anyone or an outside entity.. Also If any information is leaked, the assigned relevant employee must be held responsible for damage for the company. Therefore, employees will always be alert of information they are assigned to work with. Also the information should be kept from separate divisions in position based level. (Mintz D ,2019).

1.9.Create a Code of Ethics Document
Preparing policies to follow by employee have best response to unethical actions. Those policies must state clearly to employee what is allowed to do and what is not as an employee of the company. Also the document should be included how to report unethical actions to relevant divisions and details of penalties for broken rules of policies. Employers demand to employees to follow the set of rules and policies in the office environment. If an employee violates rules and regulations and perform unethical behavior employers and human resource officer have to take action as per the code of ethics. Considering the nature of unethical actions employer can give warnings. For unethical actions which damage company reputation, destroy company assets or loss company money by an employee during the work are some of unethical actions that need to take actions and punish according to the code of ethics. Firing an employee, charging fine or sue the employees are some of them actions can be taken by employers for critical violations of code of ethics and policies. (Mintz D ,2019).

1.10.  Employee Reporting
Encourage employee speak up and report unethical behavior in the company. Resources show that reporting have increase 65%.  Report to supervisor, Internal Audit, HR of any suspected unethical behaviors, violations of code external legal & regulatory requirements. 1 employee out of 5 employee face issues at the work. To avoid consequence reporting should be safe and discreet. If possible anonymous report system is can be developed to keep inside company and launch necessary background checks and take action.
Get feedback from employees to make policies and rules. They know better than anyone how the system works. When employees suggest rules and regulation they know that they have to follow them. While making plan each employee from different levels, different division are having different experience which may be employer doesn’t notice. So asking employee of their opinion of ethics to be followed by every co-worker will make the document more successful.

1.11.    Divide and Assign
Hand over the work based on skills of employees so the employee expert in selected area of work. So employee doesn’t make much mistakes on work and each team member complete their task to achieve common goal. For example, Employee 1 - Enter data into electronic sheets. Employee 2 - Create Database from Data Sheets. When each employee expert in separate sections they can work faster and increase productivity and save time and cost. (Thukral Arun, 2018)

3.3  . Understand Personal Traits
There are characteristics of people in the company. so their daily routine and practices can conflict with the code of ethics.
For an example, a religion has a prayer time on Friday and they can leave office and attend religious event. They are excused for specific time period to follow their religious activities. But usual its 8-hour work hours for the company.
Also there are people who like to spend leisure doing personal things during working hours. Even Managers use their powers to spend time on private tasks. So it has become harder to inspire and advise the staff members as they always see unethical behavior of Managers.
Most of Manager level employees doesn’t follow code of ethics misusing their posts, so it’s harder to keep other staff in line. In Companies most of the problem have rose due to unethical actions. To keep employees in circle of ethics company has to educate from the manager level employees. When Mangers and department headers becomes more professional, morale of staff employees can be enhanced. Most of employees with power of their position they blame for their own mistakes to other workers and demote lower level workforce. So the employee loss faith on company. Unhappy employees will directly affect the profits of the company.  Unsatisfied employees work slow and doesn’t provide value service per hour. So the company suffer the circumstance of unethical behavior of managers. Training should start from manager level so that they work on their jobs to supervises people under them and providing necessary facilities need to be given from a company.
Managers failed to perform duties properly may make the company weak.

Conclusion

Professional Human Resource management

Employees are the main assets of the company. Protecting them and keeping them well treated is a responsibility of the company.
As an HR manager, I have done research on personnel management and human resource to use the best strategy for the success of the company. In our company from the start, we have implemented the personal management approach. And in this research, we have encountered many issues with a traditional system that aroused in the increasing number of employees. To reduce loss and increase ROA and profit to the company I suggest modern Professional HR management which is an advanced version of a personal management system.
Personal management is the traditional way to handle employees in a workplace and focus on the company success and manage the company assets.
Personal management handles function such as hiring, recruiting, training new employees, performance tracking and compensation. Personal management is about recruit and maintains a satisfied workforce in the company. In Personal management, general management promotes each and every employee to help them to success the business.
Personal management hired people by a single person or sometimes by a group of people. They match candidates resumes with a checkbox list they have. When giving promotion they limit annual increases to maximum 10 percent and force strict rules on pay grade. When a new employee comes to the company they will be shown the office premises and hand out employee handbook and focus them on filling required forms.

On the other hand, human resource management which is new a version of personal management manage employee as below.
Human resource department responsible for recruiting appropriate employees and make sure they are up to company standards and culture and guide them to enhance the performance of their own and the company.
In fact, Human resource management is the next level of personnel management. There are major differences between HRM and PM approaches.
Human resource management focuses on team interest and treat employees as their partners in business and lead employees to fulfill company goals.  Job design in personal management divides the work where human resource management employees are working on divided group on any task. Where in personal management focus on individual interest rather than team interest. Considering this working as a team and getting team ideas and their skills, knowledge is beneficial to the company in taking the best decisions.  Leading all the team towards a common goal is identified as a major advantage that the company has. I suggest our company need this change to power up sales and employee satisfaction.
Power management - in personnel management, top management has all powers to take decision and power is centralized on the top. Low level staff are not encouraging to comment on decisions making process but just to follow the orders from top management. In human resource management power decentralized between top, middle and lower management levels which are called as empowerment. Employees from bottom level comments and giving feedback to top management so the top management support employees to complete the goals and tasks.
Leadership – Human resource management encourages a leadership that is transformational that focus on shared vision and objectives shared with both management and employees. Human resource management create leaders to develop trust and compatibility between team members also work together to accomplish missions while following company culture and values.
Personal management create leaders who are transactional and human resource management has leaders who are a task oriented person. Leaders tends to follow rules, procedures and regulations rather than interpersonal relationship and trust between team members
Employment: in personal management employee contract is rigid and strict, written clearly each rule, responsibility, regulations. And there is no space to modify or change the written employment contract which must be followed by employees till they resign. In HRM they have an open contract.
Recruitment – when a position is being vacant HR team and line managers involved in selecting the right person for the job. It is important to company management to select the best one for the job and human resource management team prepare process from job posting to negotiating salaries with the candidates by investing a big amount. Right candidate can raise the company profile as well as increase profits and productivity of the organization.
Job rules and regulation are very functional and strict in personnel management. Human resource management encourages flexible approach when creating contracts for employees. It enforces terms and rules; the condition is less rigid. HRM encourages employees to contribute the company with their knowledge and abilities. HRM promote flexible working hours to increase employees’ effectiveness. Allowing employees to work from home is a popular method introduced by the new approach by human resource management. Lots of major companies provide this benefit to their employees to give more freedom to employees and get back more benefits to the company.
In Personal management payment policies based on skills and duties according to the employment contract.  This will not encourage incentive to be paid other than the standard payment procedure. Pay policies in personal management depend on job evaluation and human resource management pay based on performance evaluation. Pay policies in Human resource management encourage payment and incentives for employees based on their job performance and skills. It allows incentives such as group profit, sharing gain, etc. Employees tend to work on a target if they are paid based on the performance and add bonus and incentives to basic salary encourage the customer to work on targets to bring profits to the company.
In personnel management focus is on the goals of the company as consider employees as input to achieve desired goals. Human resource management system consider the employee as a valuable and important resource to accomplish desired goals.
Professional development in human resource management allows workforce to grow their talents and skills, provide leadership training, carrier advancement seminars, social gatherings so that employees feel that they are worthy and talented. This increase confidence of the employees and background and mood of the employee affects the company and happy employees bring the company more profits and prosperity.
In personal management employees are trained poorly, employees are training less while in the work but in human resource management, employees are trained more and develop employee’s skills for the benefits of the company as well as for the employees themselves.
Decision making in the company under personal management, done by top management according to the rules & regulation of the company. Decision making is a slow process in personnel management and in human resource management making a decision is a fast process. With so many experts commenting and sharing their expertise on the matter, increase the accuracy of the decision and speed of taking a correct decision is improved.
Communication is restricted and limited from bottom to the top level of job hierarchy in personnel management. They will not encourage to comment or share ideas on business ideas. While human resource management team request to share their new ideas, opinions and new angles to solve problems at hand and contribute to the success of the company. This Human resource management system definitely helps us solving our decision making issues and with this approach we will be taking accurate decision smoothly.
Under human resource management, the business decision is formed by considering employee’s decentralization and authority and their participation etc.
Personal management targets to increase production while human resource management target on productivity and effectiveness culture.
Human resource management give s training form newcomers and for the existing workers to increase productivity.
Performance appraisal in human resource management is the process review the employee performance on a given task and discuss the support they need on their role.
In earlier days’ personal management name was used and it was changed to human resource management (HRM) due to various social and economic changes in history. With the introduction of HRM considerable change of growth caused in business organizations with the new technologies.
In a business organization, they have practiced human resource management so that they can produce more profits in their business by managing human resources correctly. Human resource management mainly considers employee side management.  It has steps and activities to deal with employees effectively to help the organization. For thus the success of the company employees must be handled smoothly. And human resource management is the field that manages employees in the company.
From hiring state to resigning phase of an employee in company human resource management goes through activities to communicate with the employees. Human resource management has come as an extension over personal management and that indicate personal management has shortcoming.
Company needs satisfied, talented, active employees in a organization to increase productivity, and profitability. by investing on employees more will not go to waste. Company has trust on the employees and respect them and employee does the same to their working place. This trust and bond is strong and employees is not forced to do so but they decided to work true to the company.
There are five skills a great Human resource professional have,
1)     Curious – finds out how business works, daily income, whether customers are satisfied, whether employees are working smoothly and in proper mindset to work.
2)     Decisive Thinker – Human resource professional have important decision to take and to take correct and fair decision professional do research by gathering required data and process them using necessary tools and come to a conclusion.
3)     Skilled influencer- Human resource professional should have ability to people from top to bottom management level in the company as well as outside clients and customers.
4)     Ethical Integrity – Must be able to talk against unethical decisions taken by any parties in the organization.
5)     Problem Solver – with a stable mind and dedication work through a problem and solve it.
Forming human resource management team can be expensive, but in other hand it brings company nothing but profits if right people are assigned in the team. HRM will balance the employee, top management, shareholders, providers and customer problem by communicating and work though their strategies and selecting best solution to arising problems.
Personal managers used act as mediator between company and employee and main job was to take care of the needs of the workplace and managing the company workplace according rules and regulation and as a result of that employees wasn’t much close to the company and worked from nine to five as mentioned in contract. Human resources management follows the ‘people first’ theme and take care of the needs of the resources. Employees as main assets and valuable resources that the company has, human resource must provide and supply necessary requirements for the resource to each employee feels their worthy.
As human resource works as separate business form today and they handle big company’s human resource activities. Practicing human resource activities is the best decision a company can make.
Employees are the main resource that brings income to the company. And without skilled employees company won’t attract customers for their services and products. Employees have different skills set and can contribute their knowledge on decision making process. Also allowing employees think creatively will help to stand out the company among their competitors. Management may have start the business but employees are the people works on the services and products in the company. And skilled employee always thinks outside the box will provide new ideas and improvement to the product and services in the company.
As a company with hundreds of employees I encourage to change our traditional personal management system to the modern and profitable human resource management system. Recruiting correct person for the job and training new employee for the job and keeping track on employee is big responsibility human resource team has. But it’s worth the effort to implement this modern approach. With education and social development people tends to work in more peaceful location with less burden and with friendly top management. To get ahead with competitors we have to adopt to modern technologies and approaches.
Employees interest to work in more welcoming organizations which are peaceful and be respected. Human management treats employees machines and tools won’t be an advantage to the company as now a day’s people are more aware of their rights. Human resource management is developed to for the better future success of both employees and organization.

Basement for good ethics is persistence

3.1.Practice Persistence
Basement for good ethics is persistence. The employee should be trained to work on a given task without broken concentration. The employee must have starting motivation during the task to the end of the task. Human normal behavior is that they lose interest in the same task during the process. To avoid this tiredness of the work employers, managers can motivate employees periodically to encourage them via events, workshops, conferences, speeches, books, music, etc. (Stanwick and D. Stanwick, 2009)

3.2. The habit of doing something always
Train employees not to stop just by completing assigned tasks. After completing assigned work find a task that is beneficial to the company. Taking brake as necessary and continue providing service to the company in work time being productive rather than wasting time on personal matters or unnecessary chats with co-workers. As soon as Employees get free time they tend to chat with co-workers and complaining about others, gossiping, making fun of others just wasting company working hours. Employees who are inactive and slow working make the office look like a boring place and new employees adapt to the same behavior. And the same behavior can be adapting by other new employees building the unethical workforce. As the companying paying employees for the working hours for employees, employees must be faithful to the company and spend their working hours beneficial to the company. When employees spend their time work on a task, it will attract more customers, also increase the productivity of the company, save lots of cost and resources. Being efficient will move the company forward, popular among customers and distributors for better service, developing customer satisfaction. (Halvorson, C, 2019).

3.3.Reward Employees
Prepare a system to reward employees on no of task completed per months. In this method, employees will work hard. Employees will be experts in their fields doing many tasks as much as they can without wasting their valuable time. Also, they will be able to learn more in their fields without wasting their valuable time. According to a reward system, a company can identify the best employees of the year and promote them. (Singer and Bak, 2017)

4.13. Get feedback from employees
Get feedback from employees to make policies and rules. They know better than anyone how the system works. When employees suggest rules and regulation they know that they have to follow them. While making a plan each employee from different levels, the different division is having different experience which may be employer doesn’t notice. So asking an employee of their opinion of ethics to be followed by every co-worker will make the document more successful.

4.14. Give Feedback on employee performances
Employers can give feedback to employees on their performance. Employees need to know their performance on tasks to get promotions and especially for self-satisfaction. When an employee can see that company grade their work performances they feel satisfied and happy that their month’s work has been noted by someone.

4.15.  Keep personal life and work apart
Employees must keep their personal life details to themselves also should not find other’s shortcomings.
